A Shred Away helps you shred your personal documents safely and securely! So you’ll know what to expect, here are the guidelines for the day:
1) Library Staff and A Shred Away representatives are there to help you with your items. Service is first come, first-served, and typically takes only a few minutes per person. You don’t need to arrive at 9am; arrive at anytime within the 3-hour timeframe. The truck leaves promptly at noon.
2) When you arrive, drive directly up to the truck or line up behind the cars ahead of you. When it is your turn, Library Staff will take your items up to the truck. We ask that you wait until your items have been shredded and we will return your bags and boxes to you.
3) In order to accommodate everyone, we ask that you bring no more than 4 boxes or bags at one time. If you need to bring more than 4, you are welcome to come back multiple times. We may also be able to allow more during lulls in the line. Also, you must take your boxes or bags home.
4) All forms of paper are accepted, including manila folders; but NO HANGING FOLDERS of any kind, particularly if they contain metal clips.
