About Our 2021 Budget…
We are pleased to inform you that the Board of Trustees has unanimously agreed to implement a zero percent budget-to-budget increase with a zero percent tax levy increase for the upcoming year. After taking into consideration the economic impact of COVID-19, it was decided that it would be both appropriate and feasible to operate under the current budget moving forward. The last time the library operated under a zero percent budget-to-budget increase was 10 years ago. In fact, the effect of frugal planning and spending has resulted in only a 3.6% cumulative increase of $55,000 between 2015 and 2020.

How Can I get an Absentee Ballot?
1. Obtain an absentee ballot application from the library (or print it by clicking here). You may do so by stopping by or requesting one by mail. If you request one by mail, the last date to do so is Tuesday, September 8th. If you are picking it up in person, the last day to do so is Monday, September 14th.
2. Complete the application and return it to the District Clerk. You may only request an absentee ballot for yourself. If you are requesting one in person for someone else, please see special instructions below.
3. When you return the application, it will be verified that you are a registered voter in the Gold Coast Public Library district and you will be given a ballot (or it will be mailed to you if requested).
4. The ballot MUST be returned, with the envelope signed, no later than 5PM on the day of the election. If the envelope is not signed, your vote will not be counted!
Picking up an absentee ballot for someone other than yourself:
To request an absentee ballot for someone other than yourself, you must present to the District Clerk a completed application along with a signed letter from the registered voter for whom you are requesting the ballot which gives us permission to give you the ballot. If you do not have both the letter and the completed, signed application, we will be unable to give you the ballot.
